MADISON (WKOW) -- Some seasoned hunters are trying to pass on their decades of experience to the next generation.
Jon Hillmer is one of the founders of a group called Kids and Mentors Outdoors or K.A.M.O.
The experienced hunters chaperon kids on the hunt for free.
They teach them shooting techniques, tracking approaches and even how to mask their scent.
"We needed to get these kids out there and these mentors and people are getting older and they have so much experience to share with these kids," Hillmer says.
All mentors have to pass a background check and meet with parents before an outing.
