MADISON (WKOW) -- The IRS is looking to make health coverage more affordable.
The program pays for 80 percent of the health insurance premiums each month for people who are eligible.
The Health Coverage Tax Credit program gears toward people who lost jobs to overseas competition or companies who went bankrupt.
The tax credit program began in 2002, and in 2009 expanded as a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
