Their message was health care for all, keeping costs in line, and increasing the availability of health insurance by offering a public option, similar to President Barack Obama's current plan.
Among those there was Wonewoc farmer Jim Goodman, who said his current health plan has a $500 a month premium and a $10,000 deductible.
"I just think we could use a lot more preventative approach to health care, something that would keep us healthy, something that would encourage me to go if I get an injury or whatever, because I know I wouldn't have to pay for everything myself," said Goodman.
Members of the Republican Party of Wisconsin were also nearby to add their opinion. Through a statement, the party chairman said changing the health insurance system doesn't necessarily mean costs will lower or better care will result.
The party expressed concern that the plan was being rushed through Congress, and worry it's one step to a government making all decisions for doctors and patients.
The President had urged the House and Senate to pass bills before leaving for the August recess without success. President Obama now says he expects Congress to get a final bill to his desk by the fall, although it's unclear if it will contain all the elements he's said must be included
The conservative "blue dog" democrats have opposed the current proposals saying they cost too much money. Estimates on the President's public option health care plan exceed one trillion dollars.
