Eau Claire (WQOW) - An olympic swimmer's message spills over to a new generation of swimmers.
5-time Olympic medalist Josh Davis talked to swimmers about proper technique, nutrition and becoming a better person.
"I am so happy for my friends, so happy for Michael, its a great time in U.S.A. swimming and I'm really happy to give back to the next generation of swimmers," says Josh Davis.
Davis started swimming after moving to a new neighborhood when he was 12 years old. He says his friends were all into swimming so he thought he would give it a try. Many of the kids at Saturday's clinic also say friends play a big part in their interest in swimming.
"It keeps you really active and you're with a lot of friends and it's fun to compete and meet new people," says Emily Way.
Lauren Glassbrenner says, "A lot of my friends are here and its really fun to compete against them in swimming and it's a really fun sport."
Besides learning, the swimmers at Saturday's clinic also got a chance to compete against Davis in a race.
