Ogg Hall's demolition leaves potential law suit

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- Old Ogg Hall on the University of Wisconsin - Madison campus has long since been demolished, but a financial dispute continues in its absence.

The Michigan-based Dore & Associates was asked to tear down the building for the state.  The company says they were unfairly fired from the job after expensive delays.

They are asking the state for $1.7 million in losses for it work from tearing down Ogg Hall.

The Wisconsin Department of Administration says it fired Dore & Associates last year after a series of safety problems.

On Wednesday, the State Claims Board will consider the company's claims, even though many expect the state to deny them.  If it does, Dore & Associates is expected to file a lawsuit seeking them.
