MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Monday is the last day for Wisconsin residents to sign up for the list that bans telemarketing calls that goes into effect Jan. 1.
The no-call list was started in 2003 and bans telemarketing phone calls, but not calls from nonprofit groups, elected officials and candidates for office.
The state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection says anyone who signs up after Monday won't be on the list until April 1.
The Wisconsin State Journal reported that consumers must sign up every two years to stay on the list.
To place a number on the no-call list, call 1-866-966-2255 or go to https://nocall.wisconsin.gov/web/home.asp.
