NASHVILLE (WKOW) -- Santa Claus can pack the house, but in Nashville he cleared out the Tennessee capitol building.
A package for Tennessee's governor was flagged for having too many moving parts, causing the capitol to be evacuated.
A Safety Department spokesperson said after almost two hours they opened the package and it turned out to be a mechanical Santa Claus.
The department's bomb squad and agents from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Bureau of Investigation were called. The package was destroyed, revealing the Santa from a company in Georgia.
Tennessee Governor Phil Bresden was not in the building at the time.
