Two new H1N1 deaths in Wisconsin

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- State health officials have confirmed two new deaths due to H1N1 in the past week from Dodge and St. Croix counties.

KSTP-TV in Minneapolis is reporting the patient in St. Croix County is a Hudson woman who died Tuesday at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.

Friends say 48-year-old Debbie Lindstrom began having flu-like symptoms at the end of last week and was taken to the hospital because the virus caused fluid to build up around her heart.

Lindstrom is the mother of three teenagers. Her funeral is scheduled for Saturday in Hudson.

The state Department of Health Services said Thursday the swine flu has contributed to a total of 18 deaths in Wisconsin since spring, including two deaths in Rock and Kenosha counties in the last week.
