
MADISON (WKOW) -- World renowned drummer Clyde Stubblefield has been admitted to UW Hospital with kidney failure.
His fiancee, Jody Hannon, tells 27 news he was admitted to the hospital last night and is in fair condition.
Hannon says Stubblefield thanks the Madison community for their support.
the 66-year-old will be on dialysis permanently until he receives a kidney transplant.
Stubblefield lives in Madison and is best known for his work with James Brown, including "Funky Drummer."
He has a weekly gig playing every Monday at the Frequency downtown with the Clyde Stubblefield Band.
